Sandwell Cost of Living team (COLT) Co-ordinator
Salary £25,500 per annum (full-time)
Working Hours 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term to 31st March 2024, expected extension to March 2026
Location Oldbury town centre, with some Sandwell wide travel
This is an exciting opportunity to help establish a new service to support residents in Sandwell. The role will co-ordinate the delivery of the Cost of Living programme, which will provide outreach advice to residents, with supported referral to specialist services.
The programme will be delivered by a team of 11 full and part-time Advisers, employed by local organisations, seconded to the programme, to form a Cost of Living Team (COLT). The team will provide an outreach advice service in community settings, to tackle poverty through benefits advice, budgeting and employment support.
The COLT Co-ordinator will ensure the smooth running of the programme, co-ordinate the outreach services of the COLT team, at agreed days, times and sites across the borough. The Co-ordinator will regularly review provision to ensure COLT Advisers are deployed to best respond to need. The role will ensure monitoring systems are in place and provide case management supervision to Sandwell Consortium’s Advisers as need arises.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person who:
- has excellent organising skills and is able to manage deadlines
- has up to date knowledge and considerable experience as an Adviser in two of the following: welfare benefits, budgeting, and employment support
- has experience of leading a project or team
- has experience of using a case management database, e.g., Advice Pro
- who is clear and confident in communication, verbal and written
- can show initiative and has a solution-focused self-motivation
- is comfortable working as part of a busy team.
