Reach & Reconnect Project Officer (P/T) – Maternity leave cover
Salary: £24,000 (full-time equivalent) – paid pro rata for part time hours
Working Hours: 18-21 hours per week (negotiable)
Contract: Fixed term to 31st December 2024
Location: Oldbury town centre, with some Sandwell wide travel
Reach and Reconnect is an exciting programme, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, delivered by Sandwell Consortium and its member organisations based in the diverse communities of Sandwell. The aim of the Reach and Reconnect programme is to improve the health and wellbeing and life chances of residents in some of Sandwell’s most disadvantaged communities.
Reach and Reconnect delivers health and digital literacy programmes across ten community sites, specifically offering support to residents to:
- better understand how to prevent ill health and better manage existing conditions
- improve access to primary care and community pharmacies and specialist services
- equip residents with day-to-day digital skills
- overcome digital barriers, enabling online access to healthcare and other services.
Job purpose and summary
The role will provide monitoring and reporting of the Reach & Reconnect programme. You will support our ten member organisations to deliver health literacy and digital literacy projects in their community centres. The Project Officer will monitor this delivery and its outcomes, using a shared framework and approach, and producing quarterly project reports.
The role will also lead on supporting a Sandwell-wide residents’ panel to inform the development of the project and to provide a mechanism for services to engage with residents on health and digital literacy issues.
Special conditions: there will be occasional out of office hours and some Sandwell wide travel.

- has experience of community development and/or adult and community learning
- has experience of monitoring projects
- is clear and confident in communication, verbal and written
- can show initiative and has a solution-focused approach to problems
- is comfortable working as part of a busy team.
