Financial Capability Worker
Salary circa £22,000
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Community Financial Inclusion Worker to provide community based financial capability, financial confidence and financial inclusion support as part of a new multi-agency estate based community project.
Working in partnership with Friar Park Millennium Centre and Friar Park Children’s Centre, Sandwell Council and Sandwell Financial Services Hub you will deliver financial capability services as part of a mix of community services – job readiness/employment support, welfare benefits community development and healthy lifestyles services.
Over the next few years there will be a significant number of job opportunities near Friar Park, we want local residents to develop the skills to secure them.
We want to engage and work alongside local people improve the quality of their lives, address low income and poverty and improve their financial confidence.
Funded through Sandwell Financial Services Hub Big Lottery Programme you will lead on and directly deliver a financial capability support – one to one, group work, and support/training to community organisations. We are looking for
- Passion and skills to make things happen and to hit the ground running.
- Experience in delivering successful financial capability work or community work with skills to pick up financial capability quickly
- An understanding of one or more – adult learning, advice work, employability support
- Self-motivated, a good communicator, who loves working with in partnership with local agencies and residents.
Working at the heart of the community within the Friar Park area of Wednesbury as part of a small multi-disciplinary team, engaging local people to become active in finding ways to meet their needs and aspirations, develop their skills and talents and strengthen a sense of community.
