Sandwell Consortium is pleased to support a new ‘Smethwick Advice Centre’ recently launched at Smethwick Library, on Smethwick High St. The Advice Centre brings together experienced advisers from Sandwell Council and local voluntary and community sector organisations to help residents resolve a wide range of financial, housing and welfare issues.

This free service is open to all Sandwell residents on a walk-in basis every Wednesday, 9.30am-2.00pm at Smethwick Library, no appointment required.

Residents can access support with: Benefits, Debt, Housing, Immigration, Education & Employment, Consumer Rights, Energy and Utility Bills, Rent or Mortgage Arrears, Grant Applications, and Digital Support.  Advisers will also make referrals to other specialist services

The Advice Centre has been launched to make it easier for residents to access support in one convenient location, and be connected to the most appropriate services through a coordinated and joined-up approach.

The service aims to support residents at the earliest opportunity, helping to maximise income, address financial pressures and prevent issues reaching a crisis.

The Advice Centre runs alongside existing Council and Community & Family Hubs Advice services across Sandwell.
